Product Video Ideas That Actually Sell

    By Danish Shahzad

A good product video can do more for your sales than a page of description. But "make a product video" is too vague to act on. Here are specific, proven formats that turn viewers into buyers — pick the ones that fit your product.

    Formats that consistently convert

    • Problem–solution: show the pain, then how your product fixes it.
    • Demo: the product in action, doing the one thing people care about.
    • Unboxing: the first-impression experience that builds desire.
    • Before/after: proof of the result, fast.
    • Social proof: real customers or reactions, UGC-style.

Lead with the benefit, not the features

Customers don't buy features — they buy what those features do for them. Open on the outcome or the problem in the first two seconds, then show the product delivering it. Save the spec list for the product page.

    Make one shoot go far

Film once, edit many. A single product shoot can become a hero video, several short-form cuts, and a batch of ads. That's how you build a library of selling content without a shoot every week.

    A product ad I produced:

If you want product videos designed to sell — not just look nice — I can help you plan and edit them. Tell me about your product and I'll suggest the formats that would work best.
